GETTING A PICTURE INTO YOUR PROFILE

The picture in your "Profile" is intended to let other members know you better. A good picture of you will go a long way in helping others when they form a mental image of that person who has impressed them with those worthy messages they have been reading. Since you have access to the Photo Section on the main board where you can display fish, boats, fishing buddies and whatever else you want, the Profile picture is restricted.  For assistance in resizing you picture refer to other tutorials in the "Image Help" section.

Getting your picture from your computer to the message board and into your Profile has been made easy by the message board software. Start by clicking on "Profile" at the top of a message board screen.

The "Profile Editor" will pop up requiring you to provide your Username and Password. That is the same as you use to log onto the message board. With that information entered click on "Log In".

Another screen will pop up and you will see a list of "Profile Editor Options". Go down to "Picture and click on it.

This screen is asking for the filename and location of your picture on your computer. Click on the "Browse" button.

The "Choose file" window pops up showing the folders / sub - directories on your computer. Find your profile picture file and click on it once to high-light it. Now click "Open".

You are automatically taken back to the "Picture" screen, but now the box showing the name and location of your picture file is filled in. Click on "Save Profile Changes". Just wait. It may take a while for the picture file to be transferred to the message board.

When the process is complete you will go back to the "Profile Editor Option" list. This time choose "View Profile". Click on it and you will see what your profile will look like to the board members. In particular look to see that your picture is there.
