IMAGE IN A MESSAGE BOARD POST
PICTURE / IMAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR UPLOADING TO THE MESSAGE BOARD
| File Format | JPG or GIF | Mandatory |
| Maximum File Size | 60 kb | Mandatory |
| Maximum image height | 400 pixels | For Best Appearance
Not Mandatory |
| Maximum image width | 500 pixels | Mandatory |
| Image Placement within message | Images must be located on a blank line with no other text or image | Mandatory |
These requirements are for images included in normally post messages. They do not include Profile Pictures. There is a separate section on Profile Pictures.
If you have come to this point it is assumed that your images meet the requirement in the table above. If they don't you will not be able to post them or if they are posted may be deleted at the discretion of the board Moderators.
Posting an image/picture is just like posting
a message. I'm going to call pictures and images simply images, but it
means both. Find the section and subject or thread that you want to post
in and start a new message. Remember you are required to have at least
3 words in the message to post it.

The command
\image{name} tells the message board software
to place your image at the location you have the command. At the end of
the text you want above the image press the "Enter" key twice to move the
cursor down to leave 1 blank line and take you to the second blankline
before typing the " \image{name}" command.
The command must be typed in with no spaces in it and It must
appear by itself on a blank line in the message. If multiple images
are wanted within the post type in " \image{name}"
for each image, hit the "Enter" key twice between each " \image{name}"
to place them in a verticle arrangement. Side by side images or text
and images are not allowed because they will exceed the width limits
of the screen and scrolling will be required to read the posts. Additional
text can be added below the last image if you wish. The names you
place between the brackets { } is to help you remember what image
you want there in messages that may contain more than one image.
So make it something short and simple. Next we need to talk about the brackets.
To my eyes there are 3 sets of them on my keyboard, hard to tell them apart.
The wrong ones will cause the command to not work. The brackets for this
command are on the 2 keys just below the -, = and "Back Space" keys. Our
brackets are the upper ones or shifted function of those keys so you must
hold the "Shift" key down when you strike these keys. When you are finished
typing your message click on the "Preview/Post" button just like any other
message being posted.

The Preview window will pop up as it usually
does except this time it has a rectangular box showing where it will place
your image. If you're satisfied click on "Post this Message".

Now you have to tell the software what
file contains your image and where on your computer it is located. Click
on the "Browse" button to point at it.

When you click on the "Browse" button this
window will pop up. Find the folder and file for the image you want posted.
Click once on the image file to high-light it and then click on "Open".

The window will disappear and your filename
and it's location will appear in the box. Click on the "Upload" button.
Now just wait, it may take a while to get the file moved from your computer
to the message board computer. When it is there you will automatically
be taken back to the section and subject you just posted in and you should
see your image. It may not appear immediately because it has to load, but
it should show.
