If after the size
reduction is complete the image file size is larger than allowed for uploading
to the message board further reduction ay be possible with "Image Cruncher".
It is a utility software on the internet that will work directly with your
computer. To access "Image Cruncher" click
here.

When the "Image Cruncher" web page comes
up you will have the opportunity to cruncher GIF or JPG files. Determine
which you need and click on the "Browse" button in the colored rectangle
for your file type.

The "Choose file" window will pop up. Find
the image file you want crunched, click on it to highlight it and then
click on "Open".

Your filename now appears on the "Cruncher"
web site in the rectangle for the correct file type. Press the "Crunch
from Disk" button. It will take some time to perform the operation. When
it is finished crunching new views of your image will appear. On the left
side next to each image will be information about the process and the image.
It will tell you the amount of crunch that was performed. The least amount
will be on the image at the top and the most on the bottom image. Look
carefully at the images working your way down until you find the last image
that looks acceptable to you. To save this image, place the mouse arrow
on the image and click the "Right" mouse button.

In the pop up window select "Save Picture
As" and click on it.

Please notice the filename. It is a series of numbers that may or ay not save on your hard drive properly so delete that filename. Type in a new filename and .jpg following it.
There is some kind
of a bug in this operation and the jpg extension is not automatically added
as it would normally be. If you fail to add the .jpg to the file name and
later find that you cannot open the file, find the file and you will most
likely see that the jpg extension is missing. Rename the file adding the
jpg and it should open.
