1) Open IVIEW

2) Click on File > Open and find your image

3) Click on Image > then (Rotate Right or Rotate Left).

4) Proceed to next step Reduce Image to Catfish1.com Standards


 
 


TO REDUCE IMAGE TO CATFISH1.COM STANDARDS:

1) Open IVIEW

2) Click on File > Open and find your image

3) When you image opens you will see a screen like below – it tells you the pixel size of your image and file size of your image.

Maximum width for posting should be 400 pixels wide. Maximum file size is 60KB

4) First step in reducing size is as shown below: click on Image > Resize/Resample. Proceed to 5). 

5) You will get the screen shown below. Make sure the box labeled "Preserve aspect ratio" is checked and the "Radio Button" labeled "New size" is checked. Then just adjust the width number to something less than 400. The click on OK. Note:If the width is already below 400 you do not have to make it smaller, unless it is necessary to reduce the file size in KB’s. 

YOU MAY ALREADY BE WHERE YOU NEED TO BE AT THIS POINT

Click on File > Save As and save the file under a NEW name. Close IVIEW and then open the newly named image. Check the pixel size and file size in KB’s at the bottom of the IVIEW screen. If it is with in standards you are done!

If the image still needs to reduced in file KB size, proceed to step 6).

6) With the newly named image open in IVIEW In step 2, click on Image > Decrease Color Depth as shown below.

7) You will get the screen shown below. By default the "radio button" marked 256 will be selected – this is fine. Click on OK.

YOU HAVE (for the most part) DONE ALL YOU CAN AND THE IMAGE WILL VERY LIKELY BE WITHIN CATFISH BOARD STANDARDS. TO CHECK

Close IVIEW and then open the newly named image. Check the pixel size and file size in KB’s at the bottom of the IVIEW screen. 
 

If the image still needs size reduction, post a message to the board for additional help, or email your image to Cornhusker or DRIFTER and we will correct it for you and return the image.
