This is my first year catfishing here in MN. I hooked into this nice one the other night and only got a measurement on her at 41 1/2". How much does a 41" catfish like this weigh would you guess?

Well I'd say she's 3 times the size of the 9 lb cat I caught yesterday and posted picture of. Mind you its all guess work, but the ND DNR fish length to weight scale quits at 38 inches which would equal 26lbs. So you know its bigger than that. I'd have to give you a rough guess of 35lbs. Where did you find her? |

I caught her on the Mississippi River on 8lb test it was a solid 35 minute battle and im a big muskie fisherman and was really surprised at how much power these fish have. I did the length to girth scale and came up at 36lbs but thats pretty close to the MN state record and it just didnt seem like a 36lb fish to me. Granted I do alot of walleye and other fishing and cats seem to weigh different with there length because of there fat bellys. I just wanted an opinion from some avid catfisherman who could take a guess from the pictures granted they have prob seen alot more catfish then myself. |

Hard to tell from 1 pic. My pb is 24 and I've caught several 20's. I'd say somewhere in the low 30's for that fish. Congrats man, that is a really nice fish. And boy that fish has got some serious love marks. I hope the fish gods bless you and me, but if it's going to be one or the other........
