there is a $$lake i know of and they have a trophy lake you can fish in and they sell these huge goldfish and they work great in there. one thing you might want to consider is it legal in your area to use them. you know the whole introduing new species of fish to a body of water. to be honest i have no idea where a goldfish even comes from. |

we always set our trotlines with bluegill and such but we have by accident of coarse stuck a bass or 2 on there. we also had a spot where the current was just super fast never dreamed of setting one there but the river rat i was with was like just watch. he took these huge shiny washers and tied them to the hooks and believe it or not there was all kinds of different fish on the line the next day. some were snaged while others were hooked right through the lip. i dont really rember anything big but had a bunch of good size eating fish |

If its legal ide say goldfish would be an excellent bait. Alot of sportish like bass could pick out that bright orange no problem. And watching them in a tank tells me their pretty slow when they get a lil bigger. So cats might be drawn to the vibrations of a franticly swimming fish thats not capable of getting away in a hurry. Does puttin um in papaws pond count as catch and release?
