Hi, I have been fishing the Bagnell dam on the Osage river in Missouri. I always fish right next to the line as close as I can legally get to the dam. Unlike some other dams where you can't get close, this one you can almost hit with a good cast. I've tried all over this area with only small catches of channel cat. Does anyone else have any luck with Blues and Flats this close to your local dams? Should I be fishing further down from the dam? Thanks for any help.

i used to go to lake of the ozarks every summer. 2 years ago i was fishin down there and there was nobody around so i went all the way to the wall and fished there, i was catch 3 to 6 ft gar all day long. i had lost my sinkers and being the last day didnt go to walmart to buy any. so didnt really try to catch cats, but saw a man catch a 52 pound blue out of a boat in the middle of the damn tho

Hey I have benn fishing the osage below the dam pretty hard this year and one stringer. On may 1st had 5 smallest blue was 7 pounds biggest was 15 pounds. Went back that evening and caught a 40 pounder. I used to fish up by the dam with 10' surf rod but now its illegal to even throw up against it. So I do alot of bumping the bottom and tight lining down river a bit. Useing shad mostly sides for bigger fish.
