Seems like the entire year i have been fight the bluegill. i fish mostly the same area its a new lake and the black top ends in the water i fish off the side of the pavement. i cast out livers and the blue gill hit soon as it touches water it is GONE, if not blue gill then bass, same goes for night crawlers, or any other "fresh" bait, any ideas on how to work around that. i have never caught a big fish in my ENTIRE life, but i am trying atleast 3 times a week to do just that. LOL |

I'm new on this site. It seems that if all you can catch is bluegills, that must be what the catfish are feeding on. Catch a bluegill and cut the head off and put it on a 3/0 circle hook putting the hook from one eye socket to the other. The bluegills will still suck on it but it will be too big for them to drag off or eat. If you can catch a small bluegill, 2" to 3", hook it behind the dorsal fin with the 3/0 circle hook and give that a try either on the bottom of below a float. The worst that you can do is catch a bass. Good hunting! |
