Here is an entertaining thread ive seen in some other chatrooms I frequent. I hope that the moderators have a sense of humor and entertain it. it goes like this(all true stories). Ill start. you havent been catfishing unless youve had a racoon fall out of a tree on you. you havent been catfishing untill you lose your motor(5miles from the launch). you havent been catfishing untill you lose your motor you just bought but before you even get were your going on the FIRST trip! you havent been catfishing untill you are warned that this streach of the river is private property. you havent been catfishing untill you lose your boat, and your wife has to swim it down as your refuse to enter the water knowing well how many snagged 50-100lb test lines are in that spot. you havent been catfishing untill you see the warden doing dounuts in a jet boat in front of your fishing!!!?? You havent been catfishing untill you launch your boat and it fills up with water before you get it off the trailer. you havent been catfishing untill you fall assleep driving home(way way too many times)!!! ok thats a start, Ill add more as people join in. | ||

you havent been catting untill your driving home in a storm and dont know were you are or which way was the launch, only to realize your allmost under a massive barge moving downstream! You havent been catting untill you see a racoon blows up in some farmers homemade dynamite trap!!(whooo , that puts exploring in a whole new light!!). You havent been catting untill a deer falls down the cliff into the river(just infront of you) swimms across, and somehow doesnt get tangled in any lines?? you havent been cating untill you forget your dinner at home.(Is that bullheads roasting on your fire skewers dude??) | ||

I know this is an old post but i'm gonna put my two cents in anyway. You aint been cattin until a beaver comes up and slaps the water with his tail while you are standin up in the front of a jon boat checkin your lines in the middle of the night and it scares you so bad you end up drinkin half the river as you fall in, not to mention the art of trying to get back in a jon boat after you fall out. All with your buddies laughing histerically! (still haven't lived that one down ) You aint been cattin until you have to take a boat paddle and beat an alligator because he's stealin the fish off your limbline! You aint been cattin till you catch a tree on fire in the middle of the lake trying to burn a big gnarly spider off your yoyo with a can of i think it was wd40 and a bic lighter. (yes this was in my younger years when we used to drink)..lol...amazing how fast a tree will burn. Got plenty more true stories like these....I think thats what keeps me fishing.... | ||

You aint been cat'n till u go out to check ur jugs and u skip the first one cause your goin to come back to it. Only to get back to find it on the otherside of the lake with about a 25lb blue cat on it. You aint been cat'n till u leave a pole baited with some stink bait unattended for about an hour or so only to come back to it realizing u left it there, to see it get launched over the edge of the marina and get pulled across the top of the water for about fifteen feet then get pulled under like a submarine. You aint been cat'n till you go to a public marina and catch ur limit in about an hour.Then leave and clean em, and come back and do it all over again when everyone else hasn't caught nothin' | ||

You haven't been catting until you on the front of the boat and you run under a limb to attach a hook and a snake falls in the boat. Or same lake different day you run the boat into a overhang and run right into a big red wasp nest. Make you leave a boat faster than a snake will. Hoot. u havent been catfishin unless u jumped into the jon boat boat launches off the bank. u lose ur balance fallback to the back of the boat. the boat tips to the side boat takes on water and u almost drown in 2 ft. of water in the middle of december in missouri after driving 1 hour 1/2 with no change close hung my hoody on long built a fire to dry it out. | ||

u aint been catfishin unless u sat on the front of the boat on one them there round beer coolers and ur body sittin back of boat he hooks into a big o cat jerks back to insure the catch throughs u out the side of the boat into water probably need abigger boat anything to go catfishin | ||

ha ha ha.. very good, its been i while since i was on this board with this message. ok. here are some more updates to this hillarious posting... you aint gone catfishing till y wake up and find your gest standing their in the buff with all his cloths spred all around the fire drenched.(ahh thats as much as i can say on that one  ...) you aint gone catfishing till y see a boat float by half sunk missing its motor and all.. big mystery. local sherif wont tell me anything other than they were looking for that boat. you aint gone catfishing till you break a rod, steping on it as that was the only spot left in the boat the was clear of junk to step on. you aint gone catfishing untill while your sanding next to a fire you burn your foot on coals left buring in the sand (some distance away from the current fire) from the night before!!! you aint gone catfish till the decisive point in choising a fishing spot is weather there is any wood left to burn!!! | ||

You ain't been catfishin' till you snag a beaver on a trotline (by the tail, minde you) and not realize it till you grab the trotline. Made it out with only being hooked twice and that's prolly what saved me from bein' swept down stream when I fell in. | ||

You ain't been cattin' until you have stood on the next to the top step of a 6 foot ladder in the front of a 14 foot jonboat on a flooded river while your fishin buddy is trying to hold the boat in postion with a 10hp outboard. All this so you can tie a limbline drop in the "perfect" location to hangout over the river once the flood waters drop. That will make yer butt pucker!!  | ||

You ain't been cattin' 'til you've overshot your cast, snagged a tree, and used your rod to pull the boat upstream in an attempt to retrieve the tackle knowing you have plenty more in the takle box. You ain't been cattin' unless your rod/line setup has more bells and whistles than your boat. You ain't been cattin' 'til you've snagged your line, forgot your knife, and discover you have no room at all to work your rod so the line will break. | ||

You ain't been cattin' til you realize the noise behind you is 3 coons fighting over the last few bluegills in your bait bucket. You ain't been cattin' til you are reeling in a dead bluegill after not having any runs all night and hook a monster muskie 8 feet from the shore. Lost him. You ain't been cattin' til you catch a 27 pound flatty that still has the hook ( the sinker and 15 yards of line) dragging behind it from the previous nights snag, caught on the same pole, same spot with the same color flo-green 25lb test line. You ain't been cattin' til you leave the fishing hole and at home realize a very expensive rod is still baited and setting at the river. When you get to it theres only a few yards of line on it and a 34 incher 200 yards away thinkin hes home free...Nope. Landed him. 30 seconds later it woulda been gone. Whew!!!! You ain't been cattin' til you are baiting a trot line with cut shad and a hook is yanked into your thumb past the barb because a 20 plus blue couldnt wait til you were finished baiting. You ain't been cattin' til you get so hungry from fishing all day and night you end up skinning out your last 6 hand sized bluegills and jabbing them on a stick over the fire. Line rippin woohoo! | ||
