A friend and I along with families are taking a houseboat vacation for Lake Amistad at the end of July 2006. We are planning on pretty much a full week worth of fishing. I have made up 25 new flagging jugs and a new trotline for the trip. We would like to find a good area to basically anchor the houseboat and use it kind of as a floating base camp. We are going to use a bass boat to set out and maintain our lines. For bait we plan to use live perch, shad, and some homemade soap bait. I have only fished Amistad a couple of times previously and then it was for bass. If anyone could give us some advise on prime locations or areas to try our lines and base the houseboat. I would greatly appreciate it. |
