I'm still pumped about the big blue I caught this morning. Best ever 31-1/2 pounds on Nickajack Lake. Caught him on a medium shrimp. The fish was in 60' in the channel and the current was rolling to say the least. I know he's not a world record and not even that big by some folks standards but when I saw that big head after the 10 plus minute fight I thought I had Jaws. What a feeling. Yes I got some pictures. When my brother gets them developed he's gonna send me the disc. Oh yeah,that big dude is gonna be my profile picture as soon as I get it. Joey, the fight was extra awesome from that depth. I caught him on the oldest,smallest rod I had in the boat. We had only been catching small fish so I put out the shrimp on a 7' crankbait rod with an Abu 5600Ci. One thing that was on my side though is that there was 25# P-Line CXX XTRA Strong line on it. Danny,we have been using shrimp for bait for years. It's one of my favorites. We just use medium raw shrimp. Peel 'em and thread 'em on a 3/0 kahle hook. They stay on no matter how hard you have to cast even with baitcasters. Knew they worked but never broke over the 10# mark.Till now that is. Fun,Fun,Fun whatever it takes Cheez | ||
