hey waylon, try putting out some corn near water and shade they won't leave til' the corn is gone. puy up a stand near your feeder cause you can hunt hogs year round cause there consider property of the landowner.what part of fla you from? and good luck... |

Waylon, you might try to bait them with corn to hold the pigs up so you can get a look at them. All you have to do is put the corn out were you see the most sign. If you have many hogs coming through the area they will eat the corn.If they are coming through at nite you may want to try one of the new scouting cameras I know they work well. |

try a beatle spin with a gold spinner blade or top water crank bait, had lots of luck with both. they should do just as well on the withalochchee. |

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading this thread, but the one and only thing that will make a pig come runnin is Sow in heat urine. You can order it from a few places on the internet. Corn will only make them come in if they don't already have a good source of food infront of them, but the sow in heat urine will make em come runnin even if they're not hungry Attempt to make every major decision as though you were twenty years in the future looking back. I'll have to work on that for ya. I found it once on a website a couple of years ago, but I have no idea what that site was. I'll google search it and let you know if I find anything. I found one site. www.inheatscents.net You can get it shipped to you from this site. It looks like it will cost about $40.00 to get it. I hope this helps. If you want to look for more spots, google search "sow in heat urine", there are a bunch of sites with this stuff on em. ITs only 29.95 for 12 oz. I have found it better to dig a hole about 2 feet deep in the ground with a post hole digger and put sour corn in it. This will keep the hogs there alot longer as they have to dig to get the corn out of the hole.

Yea, that stuff is pretty pricey, but I guess it would be, cause who would want to collect it? Attempt to make every major decision as though you were twenty years in the future looking back. It helps prevent having to say "I wish I Had!"

I'm with you Chuck. I always let corn soak in a closed bucket til the lid looks like its about to blow. Something else is I take old oil and diesel and but it in a bucket with a few tiny holes drilled around the sides and tie it to a post. They like to rub up against it, and the oil keeps the flies off em. But, to be honest, if I were you Waylon, I'd be thanking God they're just passing through occassionaly.

I don't really like the soured corn idea. It works okay, but i have seen pigs pass up sour corn to eat fresh corn. And even then, the only way there going to come in to any bait is if they are hungry. the sow in heat urine will get them comin even if they are full. I personaly think its the only real lure out there for pigs. Attempt to make every major decision as though you were twenty years in the future looking back.
