Hogzilla, I forgot it was on but had the DVR set to record it last night. I watched it late and it was pretty good. Went into great detail on Hogs, Boars, and the differences. Showed how they have spread over the last few years to cover about every state in the US. I think they said in 4 years they will be in every state. They live on every continent except Antartica right now.

They dug up Hogzilla and said he was around 750lbs insteak of 1000. Also said that he was only 7.5 foot long instead of 12 foot. They had it all on tape when they was digging him up and such.

They asked the guy that shot him why he only measured 7.5 foot and he said he did not measure him, his buddy did. Then his buddy came by and said they both measured him after he was shot. So, kinda busted them out a little there.

All in all it was a real interesting show with alot of information. I saved it and plan on putting it on tape.

Stinkbait is great, daughter makes it every day for me.

I watched it. It was pretty good. Said the hog was around 800lb and was a cross between a boar and hampshire. Also said that the area that it was in was a good possiblity that is why it got as big as it did. The guy raises fish and has a high protien feed that he uses for the fish. Said the hog probbly got into some of that too. The hog was only 7 years old. Even tho it was not a 1000lb hog it was still a good show and had alot of info on hogs/boars. After that my friend wanted to go boar hunting. So I am trying to find out info about boar hunting in MO. I don't want to go to some ranch and have them point at the hog/boar to shoot. I have emailed the conservation dept. to find out more info on this. Because my friend was wanting to go to Georga to hunt and I know MO has some wild hogs.

yes it is, jim! but with a little common sense, like never hunting alone for hogs, knowing your weapon well, having a backup, etc, it's a blast! we hunt hogs every chance we get, it never gets old!

Most of what I found out is that most of the counties in southern MO have a small population of hogs. And I think around Stockton lake too. There is a base, I don't remember what the name is, that has a small hog population. And yes I know wild hogs will kill you. There is alot of times when you become the prey. I have watched some tapes on bowhunting for wild hogs and in one tape the camera man was attacked and got his leg cut open. The backup camera man had to take over and finish shooting the tape. Also on the tape was one hog that they shot with a bow and was tracking it and when they walked by some brush it came out and attacked them. I think that is where the camera man got his leg cut open by the tusk of the wild hog. And I will not go alone. I will have my friend with me and we will probbly be packing sks, 9mm pistol, and maybe 12 gauge with either 00 buck or slug or a combo of both. I am not going wild pig hunting undergunned. One thing that I have learned from hunting is that wild aminals is just that wild and they are to never be underestiamated. Ask a catfisherman/woman if they have ever been finned or a snake handler if they have ever been bitten. So for my first wild hog hunt (if I get to go) I will be very careful and respectful of what it is that I am hunting.
