THIS HOG WAS KILLED BY THE FELLOW IN THE PICTURE. HE THOUGHT HE HAD A COW DOWN IN HIS TANK WHEN HE WENT DOWN TO CHECK HER, THIS HOG IS WHAT HE WAS LOOKING AT. IT STARTED CHASING HIM BACK TO HIS TRUCK WHERE GRABBED A 22 PISTOL THAT JUST HAPPENED TO BE THERE AND KILLED HIM WITH 2 SHOTS. THE HOG HAD BEEN EATING DEER CORN FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND WAS NOT THE USUAL FERAL HOG TASTE. HE FED A HOMELESS SHELTER AND SOME OTHER POOR PEOPLE AND HAD SOME FOR HIMSELF. |

Man if he cooked it whole, that had to be one big cooker! That'd be quite a bit of bacon.
One day I hope to be as great as my dog thinks I am.

Yhay feral hog looks like a old yorkshire boar that was turned loose. He was lucky to stop that pig with a 22. I cant imagine eating a pig like that . It would be so strong of boar smell it would make you sick. Thanks for shareing that photo.

That hog was taken in Florida using a 44 mag, not a .22. Here is a link with the real story. Amazingly big hog. http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/big hog.asp

I'm with Jon on this one, yea its taken in Florida with 44 mag. It was all over on the net for some time now since last fall I think. Some said its photoshopped so I don't know. Scouting leads to understanding, understanding to confidence, confidence to patience, and patience to success.

I used to raise hogs. That was a yorkshire boar that had gotten loose. I dont care what the story said about the taste not being wild because of being greain fed. I raised hogs, I know that sucker would taste like a strong nasty ole boar hog. I am sure with enough seasonings and other meat added it would taste ok.

Its no big deal Tobey, internet rumors spread rapidly and change often. It seems like there was another giant hog killed last year around that size too, seems like i saw a picture with a backhoe holding it up.

yeah that hog was killed with a .44 mag at the suwanne river ranch in florida. it was in the spring issue of boar hunter magazine as well. unfortunately there are all kinds of bogus stories floating around the net like that, the most infamous was the killer grizzly in alaska that charged the guy and was a world record.... funny no world record grizzly had been registered... -jordan |

the first hog is the one i was writin about. the suwanne river ranch consistently turns out hogs over 1,000 pounds. it is a palmeto jungle along the banks of the suwannee river and only paying customers hunt it. that's why you get the huge hogs.i have seen hogs here in texas that pushed 500 pounds, couldn't imagine spotting one that big! http://www.suwanneeriverranch.com/ is the ranch's site, it's kinda cool. if i am not right in posting that, would one of the mods please take it off? thanks -jordan |

I watched that program, and I think they found that the hog only weighed 700#-800#. Did I say only? That's still a big enough hog to make me stay out of the woods.
