welcome to the board Jonathan.
You probally want the legs of your stand to be 4x4 treated wood. you probally can't find them over 16' long. That is high enough, but I probally would'nt put it in the center of the field. You may be seen by deer going to and from your stand. If you could put it on the edge of the field, about middle way so you could still shoot to both ends you would be hidden better, and still be able to cover the same amount of field. If possible, place your stand so you can enter from the back door (so to speak) being careful not to travel through the area you're about to hunt. Hope this helps.

Let me know if you're ever intrested in making a trip to NC. Never been to Missouri. What do you hunt mostly?

Bottomline, I hunt deer and turkey mostly. I hunt deer with a bow, centerfire and muzzleloader. I usually stand hunt but like to still hunt also. Have never tried dogs, I'll bet that could get exciting! We have some excellent deer and turkey hunting here. I hunt private land but there is also alot of state ground, and out of state tags are very reasonable. Let me know if you want to come out this way. It's cattin' season now though, but you can come for that too! Wolvrine

Rodney
Good luck with the Turkeys. Sarge and I saw 18 Turkeys (6 that had at least 8" beards) on that mud flat that was to your starboard side at the last place that we fished. They have been grouped up here for at least 5 weeks now. Might be hard hunting this spring.

Bottomline, I've been catfishin' a small river that runs through some private property that I turkey hunt. April 22nd will find my best friend and I setting some limb lines in the river early, and turkey hunting just as the sun is coming up. Sounds good to me, if you can make it out here, I'll turn you on to some good deer. Maybe I can post some pics so that you can check them out...if I can figure out how to do it! Good fishin'/huntin'...be safe! Wolvrine

Thanks wolvrine; I would like to post some pictures myself, but I don't have a scanner. I think Walmat stores will put them on a disc for you, but I'll have to learn how to get them on the board. Good luck with the turkeys and cats. Be sure to let me know how you do.

Hey Rod, I know that this is an older post, but was wondering if the offer was still good. I bowhunt for deer in Davidson and Davie Counties, but it is getting crowded. They keep selling off land to developers and building houses. Would also be interested to know if your club is currently accepting new members. Thanks
