regular plotts will hold too. most curs will as well. pits usually hang on good and tight which is a good thing. you don't want a catch dog lettin go when you're goin to stick that hog!

Anthony, if any hog hunter told me that there coonhound's could tear up a pitbull, id weigh there answer like a grain of salt. It would not carry any weight at all...Now I'am in know way putting coonhound's down as they are great dog's, and i like all dog's. But for him to tell you his coon's could tear a pitbull up ...take it with a grain of salt my freind.

Loose skin,is the reason that male Black & Tan Coonhounds, and male Bassett Hounds,SOMETIMES whip bulldogs.I have seen it happen. The reason was that the Bulldog was holding on to a mouth full of loose skin. The other dogs were twisting around in that loose skin, and cutting the bulldog up bad.I do not allow animals to fight, and I break them up as quick as I can.My uncle had trail and catch dogs,as he caught hogs, and brought them back alive. He would condition (worm, feed, ect.)these hogs, and then sell them.I have seen bull dogs and Black & Tans tangle many times in my 60 years. Both are breeds that have to try other dogs at times. The fight can go either way.The Bull Dogs seemed to have the worst time with the Bassett. My male Basett weighed 71,yes 71 lbs.He looked to have 50 lbs.of loose skin.I have allways weighted my dogs, for worming and other medication. In the 50,s,free running, pet Bulldogs and Black & Tan pets would follow their city children to school, hang around, and play with all of us children, then follow their masters home. The dogs seemed to get along better than the children. To even chase a chicken, was an automatic death sentence back then, for a dog.A "BAD" dog was not allowed to roam. It;s SOMETIMES,not ALLWAYS,with Bull Dogs and Black & Tans.peewee williams
