Anyone here use the Triple 7 smokeless powder or the pellets? They say it cleans up with water & is much cleaner burning. If it is water soluble, I was just wondering how this southern humidity would affect it. HAUGHTON, LA

James I use it in my 30-30 but for my 7mm and 300 mags I use IMR 40/64.

I didn't realize it was used for reloading also. How is it compared to regular powder? I am using it in a muzzleloader, 50 caliber. I bought some at lunch today to try. It is a MAJOR pain in the rear cleaning the pyrodex from the barrel after shooting. The Triple 7 is supposed to clean up much easier. HAUGHTON, LA

James I have a very old 30-30 from the mid 1800's guess I should have said that before...LOL it is easer to clean but not sure about the humidity issue in muzzle loaders. The 30-30 I have is so old I would not load with today’s power powders

I use the triple 7 powder and never had a misfire(knock on wood). Ive used triple seven for most of my life shootin in several different muzzleloaders. Humidity isnt a problem unless you get the nipple wet. |

triple 7 pellets clean up very easily. i used them for the first time in my new 50 cal. cva and I was very pleased with performance and ease of cleaning. just be sure not to touch the pellets with your fingers. they say that the oil on your fingers can possibly cause fouling of the charge. |

I have never had a problem with pellets fouling if i handle them with my hands.Granted I don't think it would be a good idea just carrying them around with sweaty hands, but just taking them from the box to your gun shouldn't cause problems. |
