I can't decide which I love better Deer Hunting or Catfishing! When One is in Season I can't wait for the other. Anyone else have this same problem? I usually get exited about Deer season this early in the year.Guess it will still be ahwile. Kyle Snider -When you are committed to something you accept no excuses and produce only results-

kyle, i used to be equally excited about deer hunting but the older i get the less fun deer hunting is. i still enjoy sitting in a tree with a good novel once inawhile in decent weather. for the most part my hunting is done from my recliner in the living room with a cup of coffee. wisdom comes with age. i found that if i let a few folks hunt across the road in my favorite spot thay soon tire of hunting and start down out of the tree by 10 am. they wind up pushing multiple deer across the road and through the field behind the house. deer they never see or hear. they just hear the deep boom of that .308 when it goes off. suckers! 90% of the reason i even bother with shooting deer is because of the large numbers we have of them and the monetary losses we suffer through crop damage. the other 10%? jerky and filler for beef hamburger. most deer i never even go to after i shoot them, i just call one of the many south american immigrants we employ and tell him where supper is. it keeps the horses safe. If it aint a Stelling it aint loud enough.

I am looking forward to deer season also, I have only killed one deer and I planned on getting out last year, But the pursuit of a big old Blue whiskered Cat lured me to the river, and I spent all my extra time fishing, . Tom Lumpkins WoodLawn Tennessee.

I plan on being in the shooting house for a few days. Theres 2 nice bucks that walk by it ever day, Morning and evening. So I will try for one or both of them. And a few doe's as I'm hunting for meat and jerky. So horns do not matter. But If I get one of the nice bucks they will be hanging on the wall. Pete And to think that catfish are thought of as trash.. Best fish in the world, Sure love the bite and fight...LOL Pickwick Dam Tn

Pete, That brings back memories about the Deer Jerky, Back in 1980 I was on the delayed entry program for the Army and I went out to New Mexico and got ingaged with this old girl, well thats another story, anyway I was given a bunch of deer meat and made some jerky and I was working on a oil pipe line as a welder's asst, and I took some of that jerky to work and did some trading with the mexicans for some burito's and they had some kind of green bean stuff in there and I ate one and it was so hot it about killed me, But it sure taste good, I had a lot of fun that summer and met some real good people, there was this old mexican man and me and him worked side by side, and he couldn't speak english and I couldn't speak spanish, he taught me a few things and I taught him a few things, . can't wait for deer season.. lol, i've had the fever for months now. it seems like yesterday on closing day i seen the buck i've been hunting for the last 3 years. i know he's still alive and i'll be in my favorite spot opening day waiting for him. he disappears about halfway through the season. every year i wonder if he got shot. last year i seen him on closing night. i even waited in the parking lot to see if anyone had shot him since there were a few other hunters in my area. check out this pic. it'll show you how bad i have the fever..
