South is good. Like around Vinton and Jackson county there have been some hugh bucks killed. Hope this helps ya out, we used to stay for 3 days in a 4-H camp called Canters Cave where it was $30 a day for Breakfast, packed lunch, Dinner and stay, it was nice. Not sure if they still run it but will look into it for ya.

If yall live in OH or boarder it, let me know. I travel alot now all over OH and we can hook up and fish. Just hollar!

I live in SW Ohio, 5 miles from where the Beatty buck was shot. We kill alot of huge deer around there. Check out the Caeser's Creek Wildlife area for public hunting, we hunt on our own farm and have got some nice deer. I hunted a buddies farm in north central Ohio last year and saw a huge 12 pointer and a couple 10 and 8 pointers. I talked to his dad last weekend and he said that 12 ptr is now a 16!!! I am huntin there opening day for sure (providing it't not too warm)

I spent over 30yrs hunting Adams,Brown,Greene,Preble,Butler and Warren counties. My top 3 choices would be Adams,Brown and Greene. Although I have been reading a lot about Ohio's extreme overpopulation of Deer in the last few years and it sounds as though several counties boast very high numbers. You should be able to get hold of some statistics from any of the local DNR agencies and use them to make a choice on where to find old mossy horns. The DNR people are always eager to help,as they fully understand that with the current over abundance, management and harvest is very important.

I live in Batavia, the county seat of Clermont Co. This year I plan on hunting my Uncle's farm in Adams County and a family friend's farm in Brown. Both always have corn and soy fields out so hopefully I'll come across a monster. Adams and Brown do produce some great deer but it seems from research I've done that the closer towards West Virginia you get, the more deer and trophies that you come across. Look at the Hunting and Fishing regulations guide and you'll see how many more deer were harvested in the Southeast part of the state and how many more trophies were taken there also.
