Shot in Iowa by 15 year old. Maybe some research could shed some light on the subject. |

Yes from what i have been hearing through the grape vine that this might be the biggest deer ever shot by a HUNTER.POSSIBLE NEW WORLD RECORD.If its the deer i been hearing about it was shot with a smoke pole and this was the boys very first deer.

I'll bet that deer had a constant sore neck from lugging around that headgear. Kinda looks like brown flames coming off its head don't it? |

What's really strange is the antlers appear to still be in velvet. Meaning it had to be shot very early in the season I would think. Usually muzzle loader season is late. ?????

More pics of this deer being with held until bids are in from outdoor magazines. 8 normal tines and 30 abnormal, rack score 322. State officals say value over 20,000 bucks,(hehe). Rumor is Cabala's offer is 1 million. |

ya got ta look at it this way on the sellin of it,the kid has his name in the books,he has the pics and if somebody like cabella's is actually offerin in excess of a million, then if set up right the boy nor his family will ever want for anythin ever again, they would have a secure future financially and the opportunity for education,or a life of hunting and fishing with no worries as to how the basic bills are to be paid,if done correctly he and his decendants would live comfortably JPB Harriet,Arkansas Tight lines and bent poles my bretheren B.O.C

He would be paid for sharing it with the rest of the world. Also he could go visit and see it whenever he liked. That would be better than just having it behind closed doors and the worry of having it stolen. Living by the Square and On the Level Jesse

Hello all... i agree that it would be a great financial oppurtunity but i have a problem with antlers being sold period....here in illinois the out of staters are coming in only for antlers...either for prestige or as some have stated in pike co...THE MONEY...I seen a nice 10pt rack scored about 155 sell for 1500 dollars..thats way too much for any deer rack as far as im concerned...the out of staters are buying up old mounts and tearing them down for the antlers also..its getting crazy....they take the rack and at best give the lockers 40.00 to dispose of the carcass...the lockers in pike co give the local yokels 20.00 to take the carcass's and alot are being dumped!!!!!!!..their reasoning....get this....they are big bucks so the meat aint worth a "dang"....yes its illegal.immoral and wasteful but welcome to big buck hunting in the 21st century...you dont scout for the deer or earn it...ya pay a guide to set it all up for you...what a joke!...no wonder so many antis are up in arms..at least we have a defense for our sport/pastime...how can they even defend their way of pursuit of such a magnificent animal????..and oh yes im a deer hunter....rarely do i miss a day afield with gun or bow...congradulations to the iowa boy...it is truly a magnificent animal and from the stories i read he earned it...good luck all |

Good point Fred and you are right about todays hunting methods. I mentioned to my Mom the other day that "hunting ain't what it used to be",from watching the outdoor channel. Did you see the duck blind some hunting guide outfit had in a field of winter wheat? It was underground with a long door on top that opened upward. When the ducks landed amoung the decoys, they pushed the door open and 5 "hunters" cut loose at once as the ducks rose from the ground. The term "sitting ducks" comes to mind. When the material on top of the door started drying out and the wheat on it started wilting from their body heat, they brought out a sprayer and watered it. I had to laugh, must admit it was a good camo job. |

I went deer hunting once when I was like 16yrs old. I was up in a tree stand when one walked up on me. It was black powder season. I shot and hit it in the front chest. I got down to see where it was and it ran off. We followed the blood trail for a couple hours but never did find it. That made me really upset and sad to have injured it and to have never found it. I haven't been since.
