Wow, that's a big buck!! At least the antlers are big!! No shivers for me Doug!! I guess if I were gonna have a head mount done, that would be the one. Not something I will probably ever do though. But that's definately a remarkable buck. Good Pic Maine!! Bryan Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee BOC DONATION SUPPORT MEMBER

Get outta here! You'd mount that thing in a Tennessee minute! Then though you'd let the 46 lb flathead swim away, just don't understand ...lol egg BOC DONATION SUPPORT MEMBER

A friend on mine who lives in Strasburg, PA sent me a picture last week of a buck he took this year. It was an 8 point....not big antlers but the spread inside was 25 inches. PA has some nice sized deer up there. Might post that pic tomorrow if I think about it. Maine |

If that 46 pound flathead finds it way into to road and messes up my truck or kills a freind or loved one or if he even starts to compete for food with my ribeye then he would be finding his way to the dinner table. wow... cool picture. This year, I may have to break out the digital cam and show y'all whats been playing around in my grandpa's back yard since he quit hunting. I only shoot when my freezer's empty and I never ever go for the big bucks- You can boil an antler for a week- it wont make it easier to eat. I'm more apt to go for a young one or something with a limp- Take out the weak and leave the stronger bloodline to make bigger stuff for the future. Anyhow... Later this year I may be posting a few pics for you all. Wait till you see these Michigan bucks. You ever seen a group of 8, 10, and 12 pointers come in 20 at a time? It's heart-stopping. For now- here's one brother (of a set of perfectly matched twins) that has come by the last 2 winters.... I'm sure someone would love to have these twins facing each other on their mantle, but I just cant bring myself to shoot em when they look so good to see every fall.
This big fella was on the other side of the pond drinking when I was heading out for gills in September of last year. I snuck back, grabbed a digital cam and bolted back, catching this shot before he disappeared into the thornapples. He'll be back this fall. I am sure he will.
