I found an aluminum 1970 16' wide hull flat bottom with trailer. It has a 15 hp merc., seats, anchors, and possably a trolling motor. Fair shape, could use a new paint job.
Can you guys give me a rough guestimate on what you think would be a fair price? Thanks

My guess would be $500.00 to $750.00

Depends on your area but for that old of a rig I wouldn't go over $400.00 around here.

What brand, and how wide across the bottom? Around here, a 1970 lightweight 16' flatbottom with a 36" bottom in decent shape would probably be worth $200-$350; a heavy-duty model with a 48" bottom (like my Lowe Big Jon) would probably bring $400-$600. A trailer for such a boat is worth $100-$200. If it's in good running condition, a motor that age goes for $250-$450.

Thanks for the input, I guess they are asking $1500 for it but it is still tied up in a settlement, so I think I will look for a different one.

Its funny how different regions have different prices for the same items.A old aluminum 12' boat with a Ted Williams 7.5 Hp motor that is no longer in production is still a good buy for 500 bucks around here.In most places people would say are you crazy so I guess it really depends on comparing the prices in the area that you are going to buy.

I bought a 14' Lowe Jon with factory front deck, live well with airator, 3 pedestle seats, trolling motor, sump pump, 20 HP merc and a trailer for $750. I had to drive to Southern MO for the "deal" though. The trailer turned out to be homemade, and the motor was older that advertised. I really liked the Lowe Jon boat so I paid the man. The motor has been in the shop since NOV 03. Be carful Brother! Don't let your "wants" pass your "needs".

A couple of years ago I bought a used Jon boat, 15ft with a 25hp Tohatsu motor on it. It also came with A 32pound thrust tolling motor, live well and two pedestal seats, plus anchor and 3 life jackets. It also had a rod and reel storage compartment added. The motor only had 10hrs on it. Nice trailer too. It also came with two fish finders I paid $2500 for it and am very well satisfied with it. Some might think that was too much to pay, but I think I got a great deal. Boat is in great shape also.

I have a 12' V-bottom aluminum Myers boat, a trailer I just bought used, and a 1984 15 horse Johnson that I bought for $750.00. It has a depth finder, anchor, and oar, 6 gallon gas tank, and clamp on seat.
I'm considering selling it since Old_prowler and I will be fishing off his new pontoon boat. Would anybody be interested for around $1000.00?
PM me if so. I'll post pictures later if there's any interest.

That would probably be worth more up here. Unless it's the middle of winter or a pile of crap. At least asking price would be more. It doesn't sound like a bad deal for 1K. The only deterent I can think of is that the motor might be on the small side for it. You can easily look at the plate on the boat and see if it's rated for 15-25-35 horses. If it's rated for 30-40 and you only have a 15, you will really be wanting. The deal won't be as sweet when a year from now you are wanting that bigger motor really bad.
If you write in all captial letters, i just can't bear to read it.
