I will be coming back to Iowa to fish for two days and my buddy and I thought we would try somewhere new. We want to go on the Des Moines river by Red Rock. Set Diddy's and fish for two days. I've only hunted the boxcars so I don't know the place. I was hoping someone might be able to give me a little 411 on the matter. That is the main reason I joined. I've been catfishing my whole life don't get me wrong. Can someone advise me on the particulars of the area? Please. Ryan Gillespie |

Been quite a few years since I fished down there, and it was only a couple times, but as I remember, there was a lot of good looking water. Once we put in at the boxcars, and the next we went upstream to the next ramp. I think the best water was above the second ramp if my memory serves me correctly. Don't know how it is now, but I was down there on the weekends, and there were bank lines in just about every good-looking spot. Mite want to try during the week if possible. Good luck, and let us know how you do. graybeard |

Mike, what is the river like right now? Is it getting a little more reasonable? I noticed the raccoon floods at the drop of a hat. I tried a spot on saylorville a couple of weeks ago that was good last year but the fish just weren't there. I think they are acting different because they haven't spawned yet. If you write in all captial letters, i just can't bear to read it. Ankeny, Ia. |

You're going to get burned out before the season really starts. Are the shad runnin yet? I'm kinda waitin for the water to hit 50. I need to get my stuff ready. If you write in all captial letters, i just can't bear to read it. Ankeny, Ia. |
