If there's one thing I can say about this the boc, even being a new member, is that if you don't have an intense, gutwrenching desire to fish, you will if you hang around here. This week I've talked about fishing, read about fishing, dreamed about fishing, and worked in between it all. I can't remember the last time I wanted to just go fishing and not come back as much as I do now. It's times like now I realize why I feel like this. Myself, as with most of you I'm sure, have fishing, hunting, etc. to enjoy. R&R. Good times with good friends. Memories made every trip. Sure, I love to fish and hunt, but more than that, having the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and fellowship with others. I think about those that aren't aware of the beauty of nature, or don't have the resources or opportunity to enjoy it. I thank God my father is wise enough to have taken the future into consideration over 30 years ago, and has created a "haven" if you will for his family. God's creation is quite beautiful. I enjoy moment of it. I want to take part in it, and see others enjoy it as well. Knowing the feeling that can come from something as simple as sitting on the riverbank with a bent pole, or crouching against a cypress in the dark of the morning listening to the sound of the woodies zipping in, that's a gift in itself. We should all be so thankful for what we have and take initiative to preserve it for the future. I know I want my daughter to enjoy it like I always have. Anyway, with that being said, I really need to go fishing. |
