I need some help brothers. I do not have any pictures but, I was fishing today in a smaller river that feeds into a major body of water and I seen several what looked to me like some sort of sucker fish. I'm in NW Arkansas, and they were in the 12inch range and they had a red tail fin. I looked every where to id the fish but nothing i could find had a red tail fin in the sucker family.

Once I id them I want to catch them, some of them looked to be 10 pounds or better would be a great fight and probably great cut bait if its legal here in Arkansas. So help there in how to catch them would be great also.

yes yes yes,, thats it Jerry. Whats the rules on that here in Arkansas? And how do ya catchem and are they good for bait. You know one of my infisherman videos has them using redhorse sucker for cut bait on the catfish classic one. That must be them.

Very good Jerry. I did not have a pic kind of thought it was a redhorse. I go out in the spring and get white suckers to pickle and some to fry and some for cutbait. Once in a while I'll get a redhorse. Josh you get an at-a-boy too. Later

They are tasty but they also make a great cut bait and the way I get them is to put a nightcrawler on the bottom. Good luck

Jason, Jeffree is right. Small redworms on the bottom work best, not nightcrawlers...very small hooks too.
Good luck!
